Dear Scouts and Parents,
- Since this is the 4th Week of the month, we will be meeting on Tuesday night at 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. for a combined Young Men/Young Women Activity (The Baileys will share their recent experience in Japan).
- We will not have a regular scout troop meeting that night. However, after the meeting, those of us present will check our camping gear supplies to ensure we are ready for the the winter camping overnighter in Syracuse, UT.
- Please see the previous email sent today about the merit badge Pow Wow on Thursday night. Again, this is up to each scout to participate and will not be done as a troop activity.
- Lucas Reichow and I have purchase the 2010 version of the boy scout handbook for those who do not have one. This will allow us to be in the same handbook instead of using two separate books. Please contact Lucas for a new copy.
Winter Camping Overnighter (Friday @ 5:00pm until Saturday @ 8:00 am)
- Please see the attached Winter Camping document that explains basics about winter camping (especially wearing layered clothing and the types of clothing appropriate for winter.
- Please print, fill out, and sign the Activity Consent Form which is required for each scout to go camping this Friday/Saturday.
- Each scout should have at least one sleeping bag (recommend two for using a 'bag within a bag' to stay warm).
- Please refer to the scout handbook for having the appropriate clothing and camping gear. The troop will provide the tents for the overnighter.
- Food - Dwayne will buy pizza for dinner (to make it simple). We will need cookies, snacks, veggies, hot chocolate, milk, cereal and fruit for breakfast. Please let me know what you will bring!
- We will be staying in the large back yard (farm) behind my In-laws house in Syracuse. The address is 1157 South 3000 West, Syracuse UT 84075.
- On Friday, we will meet at the parking lot behind the Church at 4:45 p.m. and plan to leave at 5:00 p.m. sharp! It will take us 15 minutes to get there.
- On Saturday morning, we will get up at 6:30 a.m., eat breakfast and clean up, and be back to the Church at 8:00 a.m. to accommodate those that have basketball games.
- Class A Uniform shirts are required to be worn when travelling in vehicle. Those who do not have their shirts will not travel with us. Please bring scout handbook.
